I. About Draw Stereograms

This application can be used to make your own custom stereograms. More specifically these types of stereograms are called single image random dot stereograms, which are 3D images hidden behind what looks like random dots. These stereograms were made popular by a series of books titled "Magic Eye". You can use this application to draw something to test your friends' ability to see stereograms.

The images generated by this application are set up for parallel viewing. Because of the popularity of the "Magic Eye" books, many people know how to view these images. Everyone can learn how to see stereograms, yet some people don't believe this and think it's some sort of conspiracy.

II. How To Use This App

Use your fingers to draw or write something on the screen, and click on the "generate stereogram" button to create your custom stereogram. There are two ways to save your stereogram into the "Photos" application:
  • Tap the screen on the stereogram view so that the toolbar fades away. Take a screen shot by pressing the home and open/lock buttons at the same time. The phone will take a screen shot, and you will find your stereogram in the "Photos" application, which you can use to e-mail the image to your friends.

  • Additionally, you can use the "save" button to save your stereogram. This results in slightly bigger images when viewed on a computer screeen, but they are more blurry. This method also makes sure your stereogram is in the correct orientation, which is important because stereograms can only be seen from the orientation they were created in. If you want a horizontal stereogram be sure to rotate your phone before saving the image.

III. I Can't See Stereograms

Google for "how to view stereograms", and you will find lots of help. It's easier to learn on a big computer screen than on the phone. This application is made for people that already know how to see these images, and people that want to test others.
